EuTriWeek project, the training course for coaches starts on May 13th

After winning the Erasmus+Sport European Commission tender, the EuTriWeek project is about to start: a plan created by the Italian Triathlon Federation with the aim of promoting greater participation in sport by young Europeans.

Fitri was the first European sports federation to have won this type of tender which provides for a contribution of 450,000 euros for the development of a widespread growth, diffusion and international collaboration activity aimed at athletes aged 14 to 16 and youth coaches .

And next Monday, May 13th, the training course dedicated to coaches will begin - four sessions of two hours each (13, 15, 20 and 29 May from 6.30pm to 8.30pm) - which will address, in addition to technical issues, development aspects, communication, inclusion of young people in sport. Great importance will be given to the importance of the role of the coach in the growth phase of the children.

Among the speakers of this first online training, Maria Francesca Piacentini, Alberto Casadei, Luca Bianchini and Francesca Vitali.

Over one hundred coaches from the clubs of the project's European partners will be involved in this phase: Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Malta, Portugal, and Serbia.

Other fundamental steps of the EuTriWeek project will be the European Open Day (over one hundred participating clubs and 4,000 young people expected at the same time), sharing seminars on social matters to develop the Guidelines for an increasingly inclusive sport, a Triathlon Camp in Rome for 40 athletes (20 members + 20 non-members from the Open Day) and a European-level Triathlon race organized on the occasion of the World Triathlon Cup in Rome 2024.

After the launch last Monday, May 13, today will be held the third lessons of the training course dedicated to the coaches- four appointments of two hours each (next will be on 20 and 29 May from 18.30 to 20.30) - which will address, in addition to technical issues, aspects of development, communication, inclusion of young people in sport. Great importance will be given to the importance of the role of the coach in the growth phase of the boys.

EuTriWeek: the start of the project after the kick-off meeting in Prague

During the Europe Triathlon Presidents' Conference held today in Prague, the Project Eu Tri Week conceived by FITRI, winner of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Sport call, has started with a contribution of 450,000 euros of European funds for the development of a capillary growth activity, international dissemination and collaboration aimed at young people aged 14 to 16 and youth technicians.

The plan proposed by FITRI - the first European sports federation to have won this type of call - in collaboration with 9 other European partner federations (Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Malta, Portugal, Serbia) in addition to Europe Triathlon, will start today, February 18, 2024, and will develop for 18 months.


The project, which aims to raise awareness of the role of sport in promoting social inclusion and equal opportunities and greater participation in sport by young Europeans, provides a training course for technicians, a European Open Day at the same time with 102 participating clubs with an involvement of over 4000 young people, social sharing seminars to develop the Guidelines for an increasingly inclusive sport, a Triathlon Camp in Rome for 40 athletes (20 members + 20 non-members from the Open Day) and a European Triathlon competition organized on the occasion of the World Triathlon Cup in Rome 2024.
